Click the link or copy and paste in a new web browser: Lee County Parks and Recreation has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Lifeguard at the Lehigh Community Pool! This position is responsible to supervise the public's safety at the pool, in order to protect swimmers and maintain order. Duties and Responsibilities Responsible to teach various aquatic programs, clean and maintain the pool, and ensure the facility complies with all health and safety standards as governed by the state and local codes. Assist the Program Supervisor in daily operations that include monitoring and tracking daily revenue, completing all safety inspections, reports and accident reports, inputting and tracking various classes and daily users. Assist with special events as assigned. Education, Experience, Licensing Requires any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or GED and six months experience in lifeguarding, recreation or teaching. Must have general knowledge of recreational fitness, sports, or aquatic programs. Must have current Lifeguard, First Aid and CPR Certifications. Must obtain Water Safety Instructor Certification and Aquatics Facility Operator license within 6 months of hire or employment will end. (Guidance on how to obtain these is provided by Lee County Parks & Recreation staff.) Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required. Supplemental Information Prefer experience as Lifeguard. Customer service skills to deal with the public in a prompt, professional, and courteous manner. Ability to sufficiently swim to effect a safe rescue of persons in distress. Ability to lift 50 pounds and work outside during all seasons. Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, prepare and maintain reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and the general public. Ability to operate basic office equipment in performing clerical tasks at facility. Skills to effectively communicate; verbally and in written form.
